Happy Friday!  I can’t believe it is almost March already…  This week was so warm that it feels like spring is already here.  The trees are in bloom and it is so pretty (except I’m sure my allergies will be starting up soon!).  Anyway, I’m going to be introducing a new series on the last Friday of every month, Friday Favorites, where I will share some of my favorites things of the month.  The number will totally depend on what caught my eye (and what I wrote down!) for the month.

Some of my favorite/most interesting things this month include:

Five Minute Journal.  Wow.  I can’t say enough good things about this.  I first heard about The Five Minute Journal from Tim Ferriss’ Tools of Titans (highly recommend!).  Tim Ferriss is basically a human guinea pig who is always experimenting to improve his life.  This journal is a big part of his morning routine.  Late last year, I decided to adopt an “attitude of gratitude”.  This journal is one of easiest ways to do that.  It literally takes 5 minutes (3 in the morning, 2 at night), to fill in the blanks.  You write down what you are grateful for and what would make the day great (basically setting the intention for the day) in the morning.   In the evening, you write down 3 good things that happened and what you would have done differently.  That’s it!  I fell off the wagon for a few days,  and I swear I could tell the difference in my mood.

Sam Edelman Hazel Leopard Pumps

Sam Edelman Hazel Pumps.  Okay, I resisted Sam Edelman for a while.  Don’t ask me why because I don’t have a good reason, lol!  However, these pumps are one of the most comfortable pairs of shoes I own.  I have the leopard pair (shocker…) and already have my eyes on a few other colors (maybe the pink!).

Dan Carlin’s Hardcore History.  You may not know this about me, but I love history.  I recently discovered this podcast and I love it.  Just a warning, each episode is 3+ hours long.  However, they are really well researched with many first hand accounts and Dan has the perfect voice for radio!  My favorite one so is “Blueprint for Armageddon” which covers the lead up WWI and WWI.

While I didn’t get to celebrate National Margarita Day this week, this champagne margarita recipe has my name all over it.  Basically my 2 favorite drinks combined into 1!

I know this isn’t scientific, but it was a little depressing to see how men’s and women’s salaries compare in this Glamour article.  6 groups of men and women do a blind reveal of their salaries to each other.  Acknowledging there is an issue is the first step to fixing it, I guess…

I guess I’m on a DIY kick (or at least reading about them) after my candlemaking experience, but Grace’s DIY tassel earrings and Cassidy Lou’s pom pom pumps seem doable even for me!

Well, that’s it.  What are you guys up to this weekend?  I’m laying low tonight, but am going to a going away party for a friend tomorrow.  She is moving back to London and while I don’t want her to leave, I’m excited to have another friend to visit in London!

Thanks for reading and have a great weekend!
