Express Black Double Breasted Vest

Vests are one of my favorite ways to transition an outfit to fall and a great piece layering no matter the season.  I bought a black vest from Zara last year, last seen here and here, but I never loved it.  Have you ever purchased an item that you didn’t love, but tried to make it work?  I still can’t put my finger on why I didn’t love my other vest, but whenever I tried to build an outfit around it, I just didn’t feel great in any of those outfits.

When I saw this Express black double breasted vest, I knew that it would be the perfect upgrade from my Zara version.  I  love the gold buttons and the way it can be dressed down with jeans like above or dressed up with black skinny pants.  Express runs pretty frequent sales and while this vest is worth every penny, I recommend waiting for a sale.  Why pay full price if you don’t have to?!
