As you may remember, one of my resolutions this year is to shop my closet more. Funnily enough, as soon as I started doing so, I realized that there were several huge holes in my closet. Apparently my previous shopping wasn’t very strategic! Before my recently purchased white shirt from Banana Republic (seen here), I didn’t own a white button down! It has turned out to be a great layering piece with all of the cold weather we’ve been having.
One of the things I’ve realized through the blog is that it is much easier to stretch one’s wardrobe with separates than with dresses (even though a few great dress are key to any wardrobe!), so I’ve added a few classic items to my shopping list. Most of them have a twist to make them more interesting. For example, I love the piping on this button down which keeps it from being a basic button down and the detailing on this black dress accentuates the shape and makes it more interesting.
The only thing missing is a great classic bag. Maybe this tote or this one? Lol, I better start saving?
