Sorry, today’s post is very photo-heavy.  I’m sorry for the quality of some of the pictures as I had to use my iPhone after I brought the wrong lens for my camera.  I’m still wanted to share though, since it was such a great event!

One of the things I wanted to do after starting this blog was get more involved the local Atlanta fashion scene.  Two weeks ago, I had the opportunity to attend the Aveda Art Fusion Fashion Show (you may have seen it on my Instagram).  The first half of the show was very Project Runway-esque!  It was a competition where 12 students used natural materials to create outfits.  The designer of the best outfit won a scholarship to the Aveda Institute.  I’ve featured my favorite looks above.  A skirt made out of newspaper, shoes decorated with soda can openers, and flowers on dresses made of tissue paper were just a few of the great designs.  As someone with little to no artistic ability, I don’t know how they came up with these ideas or executed them, but I was so impressed by the creativity  of the students!

The second half of the show featured two Atlanta designers.  My favorite dress of the night was from Francesca Nelo.  A beautiful red dress with a deep v-neck (above), it was glamorous and strong (but I need a few more hours in the gym before I could even consider wearing it!).  I met the Francesca after the show, and she was so sweet (and wearing another one of her beautiful designs)!  All in all, it was a great event and I can’t wait for next year’s event!
