I hope you had a great weekend!  I have a confession to make.  I’m not a morning person (even though I’m trying to start waking up earlier to exercise…).  At all.  If I had my way, work would start at 10.  Unfortunately, I don’t get to make the rules.  I’ve learned that laying out my clothes the night before helps reduce my stress in the morning.  I wish I could say that I do it every night before bed, but that isn’t always the case.  On the mornings when I’ve overslept or hit snooze one too many times, I generally throw on a dress or fall back on my tried and true combo.

My tried and true combo is so simple and easy.  It wasn’t until I started taking pictures of my outfits for the blog that I realized I had a go-to formula.  My go to combo is a top and bottom of the same color (usually black or white) and a different color blazer.  I’ve worn all black outfits with a white or pink blazer, all white outfits with a blue or camel blazer, and the all navy outfit above.  Since I have quite a few basics in the same color, it always works and looks polished without a lot of effort.

This all navy outfit with my J Crew Regent camel blazer is a perfect example.  The navy pants and sweater are cute but don’t really make a statement on their own.  However, the camel blazer (one of my favorite pieces!) pulls everything together and makes an effortlessly chic outfit.
