I hope you had a great weekend and a wonderful Mother’s Day!  Mine was fairly low key except that I had a few friends over for dinner for the first time in years.  I don’t know why it had been so long since I cooked for friends!  It was a little nerve wracking since I didn’t decide what to make until the day of, but it all turned out great.  My mom was a saint answering all of my questions!

I know that I have shared my go to outfit formula several times on the blog before (here, here), but it is one I keep going back to.  There is something so easy about layering a bright piece like a blazer or sweater over an outfit that is all one color.  When I first put these black Ann Taylor Marina pants and black cami together, I added a black jacket, but that felt a little wintery for May.  I still wore it to work, but decided to have a little do over with this blue J. Crew jacket. The color of this J. Crew jacket is perfect for spring.  I could also see pairing it with an all white or all gray outfit for a different version of what I’m wearing above.
